Check-in times
We suggest passengers arrive at the airport approximately three hours before their scheduled flight departure, prepared with correct documentation and airline‑approved luggage. For early‑morning flights, please note that terminal doors open at 6:00 am, which provides a slightly shorter check‑in window for departures scheduled before 9:00 am. Airlines close check‑in one hour prior to departure.
In the event of flight delays, passengers are still encouraged to arrive for check-in approximately three hours before the originally scheduled departure time. Airlines may occasionally extend or otherwise amend check-in times for known scheduled delayed flight departures. In such instances, the security checkpoint and airport service providers will be advised by the airline to adjust their operating times accordingly.
US Customs and Border Protection (USCBP) operating hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., daily. All scheduled US-bound flights are timed to fit within these hours of operation so that passengers can be pre-cleared. US-bound passengers who fail to arrive at the airport in time to clear security and enter the USCBP checkpoint prior to the 4:00 p.m. closure risk missing their flight.

Checked Baggage Advice
Skyport operates to TSA protocols for the screening of checked baggage at L.F. Wade International Airport for all departing flights.
Inspection Notices: Skyport may inspect your checked baggage during the screening process. If your property is physically inspected, Skyport will place a notice of baggage inspection inside your bag. This is to inform you that an officer conducted an inspection of your property. PLEASE DO NOT LOCK YOUR CHECKED BAGGAGE unless you are using TSA approved locks to do so.
Claims: If the search officer was unable to open your bag for inspection because it was locked, the officer may have been forced to break the locks on your bag. Skyport sincerely regrets having to do this, however Skyport is not liable for damage to your locks resulting from this necessary security precaution.
Locks: Skyport has been provided universal “master” keys under agreements with Safe Skies Luggage Locks and Travel Sentry so that certain branded locks may not have to be cut to inspect baggage. These locks are commercially available, and packaging on the locks should indicate they may be opened by Skyport officers. Skyport has no position on the validity or effectiveness of these product as a security measure and will be forced to remove these products if necessary during the inspection.
Monitoring: All search activities are tracked and monitored by CCTV.
Before you check in
To save time, have your tickets and passport ready, and ensure your hand luggage contains only valuables and items you will need during the journey.
Once your luggage has been checked, you can proceed to passenger screening.
It pays to clear the passenger screening checkpoint early and give yourself time to relax before your flight, enjoy the shops, cafe and bar in the departure lounge, and get to your gate in plenty of time.
Please be aware that there are limits on the number and size of bags and on the quantity of liquid items that can be carried through security control.

Traveling with young children?
LF Wade International Airport allows you to bring formula, breast milk, toddler drinks, and baby/toddler food (including puree pouches) in quantities greater than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) in your carry-on baggage. These items are considered medically exempt and do not need to fit within a quart-sized bag.
What to Do:
- Notify Security: At the beginning of the screening process, let security personnel know you are carrying formula, breast milk, toddler drinks, or baby/toddler food in quantities over 3.4 ounces.
- Separate Your Items: Remove these items from your carry-on to be screened separately from your other belongings.
- Possible Testing: Security may need to test the liquids to ensure they are free of explosives or concealed prohibited items.
Helpful Tip: To make the screening process quicker, we recommend transporting formula and breast milk in clear, translucent bottles instead of plastic bags or pouches.
Special Assistance
Passengers requiring special assistance should contact their airline in advance of their flight.
The new airport terminal is fully accessible and includes covered passenger boarding bridges, allowing passengers to comfortably board and disembark the aircraft and move freely around the airport terminal.
