St. George’s, Bermuda, November 16, 2021 – The LF Wade International Airport will hold an emergency exercise on Thursday morning with multiple on island agencies participating.

The exercise is designed to test the airport’s emergency plans, with various governmental and non-governmental agencies on hand to participate. The event will be a simulation of an aircraft accident in the waters just off the runway near Clearwater Beach.

The purpose is to demonstrate the ability of Skyport to effectively coordinate interagency emergency operations in accordance with the Airport Emergency Plan in response to a significant aircraft accident where the aircraft rests in water.

The public is asked to stay clear of the area on Thursday November 18th from 8am to 11:30am as emergency response vehicles will be on site to conduct the exercise as if it were a real-life scenario.

Skyport apologizes for any inconvenience and would like to thank the public in advance for their cooperation.
