Management Commitment to emission reduction
In the international context where climate change and its impacts require an immediate, strong and lasting response from all sectors, the L.F. Wade International Airport has committed to undertake reduction of its environmental footprint, specifically its greenhouse gas emissions, as a priority under Skyport’s Environmental Policy and Environmental Management Plan.
As the special purpose Bermudian company responsible for the operations, maintenance, and commercial functions of the L.F. Wade International Airport, Bermuda Skyport Corporation Limited (Skyport) affirms its participation in the voluntary global carbon management standard Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) developed by Airports Council International (ACI). Skyport’s involvement in ACA is reflected by complying with all the requirements for Level 1 (Mapping) certification, setting the baseline for the emissions of Skyport’s operation.
In this context, L.F. Wade International Airport commits to reduce our absolute CO₂ equivalent emissions that are under the control of the airport (scope 1 and 2) by implementing permanent actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to the base year (2021).
